Chi e' Angela Maria Russo?

Angela Maria Russo, laureata in Scienze Biologiche , autodidatta , da sempre si dedica al disegno ed esegue, tra gli altri , lavori di arte naturalistica .
Ha eseguito poster didattici e piccole guide per il WWF e per il parco dei Monti Simbruini, ha illustrato alcuni libri sulla natura per la Mondadori (1995) e per la Muzzio (2005). Nel 2000 ha pubblicato come co-autrice e illustratrice il libro “Universo Albero”, Macro Edizioni. Nel 2005 ha partecipato al convegno di Educazione ambientale presso il Museo Civico di Zoologia di Roma ed ha pubblicato, alcuni suoi lavori e il suo intervento, sul libro “Per una ecologia dell’educazione ambientale” edizioni Scholè Futuro. Nel 2006 ha illustrato il volume “Piante officinali dei Monti Prenestini” editore Deui. Nel 2007 “Orchidee spontanee dei Monti Prenestini”pubblicazione del Museo Civico Naturalistico dei Monti Prenestini; ha effettuato alcune illustrazioni per i volumi in uscita con il Corriere della Sera “L’Atlante degli Animali”. Nel 2008 ha pubblicato su “Gli animali di Ulisse Aldrovrandi”- dispense per la scuola – Istituto Superiore di Sanità. Dall 2007 collabora, come illustratrice, con la Fondazione Università di Salerno (UNISA) . Sue opere sono apparse su vari mensili e quotidiani : Gardenia; La mia Casa; Ville e Casali;: Trovaroma di Repubblica; Repubblica; Tempo e su molti cataloghi d’arte.
Collabora con la rivista VB Nature, dove ha pubblicato alcuni suoi disegni.
E’ presente nel Dizionario degli Illustratori Contemporanei” edito dal Comune di Bolzano.
Alcuni suoi lavori sono presenti in collezioni : Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Pittsburgh - USA; Centro di documentazione dell’Illustrazione Contemporanea – Comune di Bolzano e Bronzolo; Fondazione Universitaria Salerno (UNISA); Fondazione Nazionale Collodi e in varie collezioni private in Italia e nella Repubblica Ceca.
Ha partecipato a numerose mostre collettive in Italia e all’estero (USA :Pittsburgh, Washington, Germania:Hannover, Regno Unito: Londra, Spagna:Barcellona).

Dal 2000 ha insegnato e insegna Pittura Naturalistica presso strutture pubbliche e private di Roma e del Lazio, tra queste anche il Museo Civico di Zoologia di Roma e alcune scuole statali di Roma e Provincia .

Opening September 18, 2009 Part I

Here are some pictures from our opening night. The gallery is a beautiful small space with great lighting to view paintings. We look forward to providing a direct experience of art at this location for many years to come. Thank you to all who attended that night in body or spirit. Opening September 18, 2009 Part II

Preparing for Take-Off

Though this is the first post for this blog, we've been working on the gallery for some time now and it is finally coming together. This Wednesday we are having the floors finished. Already the space has been painted, the new lighting systems installed, the new hanging system has also been installed, and we have a small table to use as a desk.

We are attempting to open on the first night of the Festa di Val d'Arbia on the evening of Friday September 18, 2009. This will be a painting show of works depicting views and persons from the area by artists Maddine Insalaco and Joe Vinson. We do hope that you join us that night if you can.

More information on the gallery will be posted as available. The gallery will be open during the weekend days and evenings of the festival subject to available persons for gallery sitting. Normal hours will be announced. Maddine and I are primarily painters and we will not maintain normal store hours. However, we will be available most of the time to show the gallery and works by appointment. As we chart out our course on this project, I'm sure that we will begin to offer some continuing regular events. It is our hope that the feedback that we receive as we move forward will guide us to our future goals.
