Opening Night with Kaye Mahoney

4:00 PM, Saturday, July 3, the show is up and ready. There are a few new ways we've discovered to organize works on our hanging system as you can see from these few installation shots. I'm very happy with the show, it looked great. This was first time that we invited people to a show of abstract work and we were pleased with the large turnout.

The paintings covered a range of styles all of which touched on Kaye's continuing investigations of layered veils of transparent and semi-transparent color with a variety of application methods. I love the scale of these works as the having an emphasis on spaciousness and depth.

At 5 we unlocked the door. The chilled wine and the aged percorino and grapes are on the table. Here's Kaye as we opened.

We soon had a small group.

And then there was a larger group.

Some people, not only smokers, were outside in the street.

In this last shot, we gathered at the restaurant at Monte Oliveto.
